 Volunteers Needed for
"100 Years of Friendship" Sakura Matsuri 2012
                   2012年桜祭りボランティア 募集

Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The gift and annual celebration honor the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued close relationship between the two countries. In a simple ceremony on March 27, 1912, First Lady Helen Herron Taft and Viscountess Chinda, wife of the Japanese ambassador, planted the first two trees from Japan on the north bank of the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park.

Let's celebrate this Cincinnati Connection with our own Cherry Blossom Festival!

Kintetsu International (Chicago) Organizing Japan Relief Volunteer Tours

Kintetsu Travel will support Japan in the tsunami relief effort by operating a volunteer tour in November.  Many of the coasts on the Pacific Ocean side were devastated by the tsunami on March 11.  Japan is still recovering, even after six months have passed since the great earthquake.  In fact, many years and the help of many people are needed for full recovery.    More information at http://www.kintetsu.com/kizuna
